We maintain the height of the grass between 2.5" and 3.5". The height of the grass is determined by several factors including, weather conditions and health of the turf. We cut the turf in different directions, if possible, each week. This keeps the turf healthy by reducing cutting stress & tire tracks. We line trim all edges as necessary and use a blower to clean the property. We typically cut the grass one time per week. Cutting is sometimes not done due to weather (either too wet or too dry).
We provide turf core aeration services. There are several benefits to aeration and include: Loosens compacted soil and increases the availability of water and nutrients. Enhances oxygen levels in the soil, which stimulates root growth and enhances the activity of thatch-decomposing organisms. Reduces water runoff, increases water infiltration and percolation, and improves drainage. Increases the lawn’s drought tolerance due to enhanced root growth and improves its overall health We offer this service two times throughout the season, once in spring and once in fall.
This application includes a granular fertilizer with Dimension. The fertilizer consists of both an immediate-release and a slow-release nitrogen. The nitrogen is put down at a rate of 1 lb. per 1,000 square feet. The included Dimension is a pre-emergent that helps prevent the germination of several evasive grass species, including crabgrass. The timing of this application is based on weather and ground temperature. The usual timing of this application is in April.
This application is a liquid broadleaf weed control product. The weed control is Triad Select and it is applied at a rate of 1 oz. per 1,000 square feet. The weed control is mixed with a soluble fertilizer. This mixture accomplishes two things, the first is that the fertilizer acts as a surfactant. A surfactant helps the weed control ‘stick’ to the weeds and amplifies its e ffectiveness. The second benefit is that the turf is receiving some fertilizer (nitrogen). The nitrogen provided is ½ lb. per 1,000 square feet. The usual timing of this application is in May.
This application a granular fertilizer. The fertilizer consists of both an immediate-release and a slow-release nitrogen. The slow-release nature of this fertilizer will feed the turf through the summer. The nitrogen is put down at a rate of 1lb. per 1,000 square feet. The usual timing of this application is in June.
